“why doesn’t he love me?!”

you never thought that you would have to comfort your 21 year old boyfriend because your cat didn’t like him.

a sulky jake was found on your shared bed in the comfort of your embrace. he and your cat had been at each others throats ever since they met. if jake touched him, he’d attack him, or even if he tried to get close to him he’d run away from him in a matter of seconds.

“i mean, i understand why he’d hate me if i didn’t constantly feed him—or i don’t know— if i abused him! but i’m constantly pampering him with pets, treats, and i even change his litter box!” he lets out an exasperated sigh before he moves away from your embrace and sits up against the bed frame.

you look at him with a smile on your face. “j, don’t you think maybe he just needs to warm up to you..?” you hold his hands softly.

he throws his hands in the air and groans. “but we’ve been dating for almost a year now, y/n! i just don’t get it.” he says before looking into the distance of your bedroom.

he looked so distraught and frustrated all because your cat bit him any time he’d try to interact with him. he looked so upset, but you couldn’t help finding his mannerisms adorable.

you giggle softly as you see him cross his arms and sigh once again.

he looks at you and laughs before throwing his body towards you, his head burying itself back into your side and his hand wrapping around you. “this isn’t funny!”

you widen your eyes, surprised it didn’t take much to convince him. “that’s it? you’re not going to ask why?” you stare at him as he gets up from the couch where you were both laying.

shaking his head, he walks over to the pantry of your shared apartment. “no, i trust you.” he says as he reaches up to grab a bag of your favorite kettle corn. your mouth falls agape as you look away from him and turn back around to look at the long-forgotten movie you put on for both of you to watch.
